Sustainability 101

Twenty-five years ago, The Brundtland Commission defined sustainable development as “development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.”  Since then, there have been numerous revisions to this definition as a result of a burgeoning focus on new green energy technology, and the public’s acceptance for eco-friendly practices.

Individuals already working in green professions understand the need for walking the talk and being the example for living and working green. Yet how do you ensure that your employees comprehend, embrace and demonstrate sustainable practices, both on and off the job? Not every employee you hire will necessarily come from a green energy organization or have been schooled in eco-friendly practices. Employees can quickly make or break your company as a result of their knowledge levels and resulting sustainability behaviors.

Green Education Inc. ensures that new/existing employees are modeling and practicing these behaviors by designing and incorporating a customized “Sustainability 101” module into an organization’s Onboarding and New Hire Training processes.

It can be the difference between hiring and working with “Johnny come-lately” wannabe greens or with purposeful, dedicated, green enthusiasts!
