Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP) – Small Business Energy Improvement initiative

Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP) – Small Business Energy Improvement initiative (SBDI):  Green Education Inc. conducts outreach and education with small businesses in the South Bay cities, connecting hundreds of business owners to energy efficiency audits & retrofits (light and water fixtures) for small businesses utilizing 30 kw & below.

Green Education Inc. was selected as one of a handful of strategic community organizations, as part of the RePower Los Angeles coalition, a coalition formed by the Los Angeles Alliance for A New Economy (LAANE). The coalition works with the LADWP and with IBEW 18 to outreach to businesses in the city of Los Angeles. As well, Green Education Inc. communicates the success and importance of IBEW 18’s “Utility Pre-Craft Training” program, established to identify, prepare and train future workers for energy efficiency, water and renewable energy jobs within the LADWP organization.

Green Education Inc. is proud to be a coalition partner and contractor for this initiative, working to help residents in under-served communities lower their energy bills and create healthy, comfortable homes in the process. As well, we are supporting cleaning up the environment, the closing of fossil fuel plants and the construction of renewable infrastructure via energy efficiency improvements. Finally, our outreach efforts are helping to create more good paying, union jobs in neighborhoods that typically don’t have access to these types of jobs and careers.

We are thrilled to be an integral part of the RePower LA and Small Business Energy Improvement initiative!
